{Letter #23} Surprise!
I know what you're thinking and the answer is no, neither Hermana Brown nor I are going to our original assignments, but that's okay because things are going great here in Utah!! This week was full of lots of little, happy surprises:
-we got a new companion!! So Hermana Brown and I got a call on Monday saying that on Saturday we would be taking one of the other sisters in our district to the airport to fly to Paraguay and then we would be companions with her companion! For the next 2 weeks we're going to be in a trio with 2 Spanish wards to serve in! It's crazy but so fun and my new comp, Hermana Rogers, is so awesome!
-we had some of our friends come to church yesterday AND one of our amazing members randomly brought two of his friends who we're going to start teaching. It was great!!
-not to flex or anything, but I whipped up a pretty good batch of brownies this week to give to some other missionaries.... recipes are overratedπ
This week I've been thinking about the Holy Ghost and a scripture that keeps coming into my mind is part of 2 Nephi 33:1-
"For when a man speaketh by the power of the Holy Ghost the power of the Holy Ghost carrieth it unto the hearts of the children of men."
I think it's important to emphasize the word "unto." We can listen to the words of our prophet and other church leaders, who speak with the power of the Holy Ghost, but just listening, allowing the spirit unto our heart, isn't enough. We need to let it into our hearts. That means listening and then acting: studying things out, making changes, LIVING according to the principles the Spirit has made known to us.
I hope you all have a wonderful week!! Love you!
Love,
Hermana Goold
