{Letter #25} BAPTISM!

Image
Hello everyone!! I hope you've been having a great week!! I'm running out of time today, but here are a couple of highlights: - OUR FRIEND GOT BAPTIZED!! She's so awesome and we're so happy for her!! - I hit my 9-month mark. Yeah, that's halfway  πŸ˜”πŸ€¨πŸ˜³πŸ₯³   -walking!! We did get bikes but we've had some unfortunate flat tire issues so it looks like we're destined to walk everywhere. I love it though!! Spiritual thought: CONFERENCE WAS SO GOOD!! I know I'm late to the game, but seriously if you haven't read President Nelson's talk: " Christ Is Risen; Faith in Him Will Move Mountains ," go read it. One of my favorite quotes from it is this: "Faith in Jesus Christ is the greatest power available to us in this life. All things are possible to them that believe. Your growing faith in Him will move mountains—not the mountains of rock that beautify the earth but the mountains of misery in your lives. Your flourishing faith will help yo...

{Letter #23} Surprise!

Image
I know what you're thinking and the answer is no, neither Hermana Brown nor I are going to our original assignments, but that's okay because things are going great here in Utah!! This week was full of lots of little, happy surprises: -we got a new companion!! So Hermana Brown and I got a call on Monday saying that on Saturday we would be taking one of the other sisters in our district to the airport to fly to Paraguay and then we would be companions with her companion! For the next 2 weeks we're going to be in a trio with 2 Spanish wards to serve in! It's crazy but so fun and my new comp, Hermana Rogers, is so awesome! -some of our covid rules got CHANGED!! We can now accept homemade food (as long as we don't eat it in other people's homes) and rides!! This is a BIG step for us haha -we had some of our friends come to church yesterday AND one of our amazing members randomly brought two of his friends who we're going to start teaching. It was great!! -not to ...

{Letter #22} Zoom Baptism

Image
Hello, happy Monday!! There have been so many miracles here in Kearns. Once again, I've left myself with no time to write but here are a couple highlights: -referrals! We have a member in our ward who calls us a couple times every week to give us people who are interested in English classes or gospel messages. Most of the people aren't in our area, but it's still so awesome for us!! -baptism!! A couple weeks ago this same hermano brought one of his friends to our ward. We were able to teach him a couple lessons and then found out he doesn't live in our area so we passed him off to his missionaries. He got baptized on Saturday and we got to watch on zoom!! We were so happy :) -we got to shovel a bunch of snow this week! Thought: I love D&C 18:15-16 from CFM this week! I haven't had an official baptism yet on my mission, but I still feel so much joy every single day. And you don't have to be a full-time missionary to feel that same joy from sharing the gospel ...

{Letter #21} Come off Conqueror

Image
Hello everyone!  Happy Monday  Wednesday!  This past week was so good! Here are a couple highlights: - dog !! A member asked us to walk her dog this week because her kids don't like to and of course we said yes! Best service ever.... -transfers . Hermana Brown and I are staying together in Park Ridge!! We were really surprised because she's been here for 3 transfers (4 1/2 months) already, which is kind of a lot in our mission. We're so excited though!! We're also going to be moving into our area AND getting a car. I'm going to miss our walks to church, but it's probably for the best that we'll get 1 1/2 hours back on Sundays :) -lesson ! One of our friends has been taught for quite a while. She told us that she wants her family more involved in learning about the gospel before she gets baptized. Yesterday we had a lesson with her, her 3 kids, and an awesome family from the ward! We taught them about the Restoration with a little object lesson and a bunch of...

{Letter #20} God is good!

Image
Hello everyone!! I hope you all had a fantastic week!! We had another great one here in west Salt Lake City!! Highlights : πŸ”₯we taught the Restoration to a new friend using a method our assistants to the president taught us during zone conference and it was so good!! Hermana Brown and I agreed that it was probably the best lesson either of us have been a part of on our missions so far. Our friend didn't turn out to live in our area (we may or may not have shed a few tears about it.... it's fine....), but it was such a cool experience! πŸ’»family history!! One of our other friends is really interested in family history so we've been helping her with that! It's been so cool go be able to help her set up her family tree! She even found the names of her great-grandparents!! It's made me go back and look at my family history too and it's just awesome!! I highly recommend! ❄we got to call some missionaries in PerΓΊ this week and they thought it was so cool that we get to...

{Letter #19} Update in Pictures

Image
Hello hello my friends!! Happy Monday!    {Note from Mama Goold:  It's my fault this letter is going out so late this week, so Happy Saturday to all you too!} Here's my week in pictures because I don't have very much time:) -Us super happy because we got some referrals this week who are IN OUR AREA!!! Definitely a miracle! -I just restarted the Book of Mormon in SPANISH. I feel like the book mark is appropriate haha -Hermana Brown and I got tacos for her 8 month and my 6 month birthday in the mission!! -We love service!! -Bowling with the district!!! -Funny story: my tag fell off the other day and I couldn't find the magnet. I opened our door like an hour later to put the trash out and found it stuck to our door?? I literally have no idea how it got there haha Spiritual thought : The scripture that I took a picture of is one of my favorites (1 Nephi 9:6):   "But the Lord knoweth all things from the beginning; wherefore, he prepareth a way to accomplish all his work...

{Letter #18} 2021πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸ˜

Image
Hey everyone!! Happy 2021!!!! This past year was absolutely crazy but I have high hopes for this one! Highlights: -I got transferred! I am in Kearns, actually living in the same place as my first transfer. My new companion is Hermana Brown!! We have a lot of things on the horizon for the next six weeks and I'm super pumped!! -walking! So, the story is we do not have a car and there are too many goat heads (little spiky plants that pop our tires) to ride bikes, so we walk a lot! We have about a 1-1/2 hour walk to church every week. It's so fun though! And yes, you may be wondering why we have to walk that far to get to church in Utah. I could not tell you... we pass 7 other church buildings on the way hahaha -Doctrine and Covenants!! Yeahhhhh!!! I just started it at the new year (probably like a lot of you) and it has been so good. Hermana Brown and I also made a goal to read the book, " Saints ," this transfer! It is the first time I've read either of them, and I...
