{Letter #4} Almost There!

Image
Hey friends!! I hope everyone's doing well! I am getting very excited to be done with the MTC and actually be able to teach real people. I only have about one more week to go though (I head to Utah on the 24th)!! Highlights: -singing "Oh, está todo bien" {Come, Come, Ye Saints"} with lyrics we wrote about repentance over zoom. As I'm sure you can imagine, it was a grammy worthy performance haha -finishing the Book of Mormon!! It has taken me far too long to realize how much of a gift the Book of Mormon is. After two BYU Book of Mormon classes and recording my thoughts in a journal, this was by far the most I've gotten out of it and man.... everyone just needs to read it!! I really believe that if everyone were to read this book and live its principles, so many of the problems in the world would be remedied. Things to work on: I'm sure this one goes without saying.... BUT I have great hope this week!! My family lives in the Spanish magnet ward in our area...

(Letter #3) I'll go where you want me to go

Hermana Goold has finished her 3rd week in our home MTC and just got her reassignment! She is scheduled to fly out the third week in August, so she is a little over half-way done with her training now. We have loved having her at home for these bonus few weeks.  :)    Write to her at emma.goold@missionary.org  *********************************************************************** Hello friends and family!!  I hope you all are doing well.   Highlights: -First TRC (practice lesson) in Spanish!! I may or may not have written down what I wanted to say beforehand because I didn't trust myself to be coherent without notes, but that's definitely one of the perks of being on zoom! Luckily, Sister Bludworth is really good at Spanish, so it actually was super awesome and the lady we were teaching asked us to teach her more about the Book of Mormon which, um, yeah we can definitely do that! -Sister Bludworth and I have a new tradition!! Every p-day we watch a [m...

(Letter #2) Home MTC Continues

Hello everybody!! I hope everyone's doing well!! This week has been a crazy one for me. Highlights: -The EFY and mutual music albums. I never thought I would actually listen to these, but after about two days of the same 10 "Sunday" songs, here we are, and I'm actually not mad about it.... they're growing on me. -Sister Bludworth (my companion) is so awesome!! She always has such great ideas for our TRCs (practice lessons) and is super fun to talk to (sometimes we don't get anything done in companion study haha)! We may or may not be planning a trip already for when we get back from our missions (she likes to travel too):) -This week I watched " Safety for the Soul " by Elder Holland AND " The Book of Mormon: Man-Made or God-Given " by Tad Callister and wow.... the Book of Mormon is awesome!! Things I'm working on: I don't know if this is how it is normally, but my district's first two weeks of classes were entirely in English....

{Letter #1} Starting Out

Image
Hello friends and family! I hope you are all doing well! So, before I started my mission (which was less than a week ago haha), I had a bunch of people ask me what the MTC at home would be like, and I honestly didn't know how to answer because I had no idea. They didn't give much information to us before. Well, now that I've started I can finally answer! All you need to know is that it is a lot of zoom calls (so far we've been having around 8 hours every day of Spanish class, normal class, companion study, workshops, etc.). I don't think I've ever been more grateful for a comfy chair in my life haha... So yeah, that's been fun to adjust to. It's also been fun to get to know my district. Everyone is super awesome! My companion, Hermana Bludworth and I are outnumbered 2:10 though by the elders haha.... Also 8 of the people in my district are from the DC area (I'm including myself because I still think of VA as home)!! Yesterday we practiced teac...
