(Letter #3) I'll go where you want me to go

Hermana Goold has finished her 3rd week in our home MTC and just got her reassignment! She is scheduled to fly out the third week in August, so she is a little over half-way done with her training now. We have loved having her at home for these bonus few weeks.  :)

Hello friends and family!!

I hope you all are doing well.

Highlights:
-First TRC (practice lesson) in Spanish!! I may or may not have written down what I wanted to say beforehand because I didn't trust myself to be coherent without notes, but that's definitely one of the perks of being on zoom! Luckily, Sister Bludworth is really good at Spanish, so it actually was super awesome and the lady we were teaching asked us to teach her more about the Book of Mormon which, um, yeah we can definitely do that!

-Sister Bludworth and I have a new tradition!! Every p-day we watch a [mission-appropriate] movie together over zoom!! Last week we watched "The Other Side of Heaven" and this week we watched the 2nd one, so it's been a blast so far:)

-The big news of this week is: I got reassigned!! I'm going to SALT LAKE CITY WEST!!

I'm not sure how long it'll be until I'll be able to go to Toronto (rumors are the border will be closed until the new year, but definitely don't quote me on that, since I literally know nothing), but until then I am so excited to be able to teach the people in SLC too!!

Something I'm working on:
Eh same old. I understand a lot more Spanish than I did even just last week! I can write more too, but if I have to say things without having time to think hard/write them out first....well.... yeah. I need to work on that. Funny story though: apparently I also need to work on my English. I was playing a game with my family and one of the cards said "ache" and I said "ah-chay" and didn't even realize until my family started laughing at me because that is not how you say that word in English...

Book of Emma chapter 3:
Life doesn't go the way we want it to. A year ago, when I was heading to BYU, I never imagined that right now I would be doing the MTC at home, heading back to Utah in a few weeks to wait to go to Canada. And I know I'm not the only one: literally everyone has had their plans completely uprooted this year! It's hard. There's a video by the church that I really like called "The Will of God", and I may be taking it slightly out of context, so please forgive me:) Anyways, I was watching it the other day and thinking about everything going on. It's easy to feel like the man in the video-"I was making such great progress. I am literally going to {insert a plan here} (teach people about the gospel)! That's a good thing that I worked hard for! How could you let this happen?" I've been thinking though: maybe God's plan for me is kinda just getting started. Maybe there's something He wants me to learn that I couldn't have otherwise. I've already seen really cool things happen that I don't know would have otherwise: new ways to do missionary work, new ways of staying connected with people, a greater appreciation for the temple and the covenants and ordinances we do there.

Wow okay, that was really long and I don't know if I got the exact point across as I wanted to (as I said earlier.... I'm working on my English too), but here we are. Thanks for sticking with me.

Have a great week! As always, email me whenever!! How is everyone doing?? Do you have any inspiring or funny stories you want to share?? I love to hear from you!

Love,
Hermana Goold

Pics (a very random assortment because there are only so many pictures you can take when you do pretty much the same thing everyday):

1. We got hit with Tropical Storm Isaias on Tuesday so I had to hang out somewhere other than the sunroom because it got way too dark and distracting with all the rain and wind. Thankfully we only lost power for a few minutes, so I was able to stay connected. Many people in our area are still without power, so that was definitely a tender mercy!
2. Saturday hikes with the family!!

3. My sister made a cake and apparently I was very excited about it....
