{Letter #1} Starting Out
Hello friends and family!
I hope you are all doing well! So, before I started my mission (which was less than a week ago haha), I had a bunch of people ask me what the MTC at home would be like, and I honestly didn't know how to answer because I had no idea. They didn't give much information to us before. Well, now that I've started I can finally answer! All you need to know is that it is a lot of zoom calls (so far we've been having around 8 hours every day of Spanish class, normal class, companion study, workshops, etc.). I don't think I've ever been more grateful for a comfy chair in my life haha... So yeah, that's been fun to adjust to.
It's also been fun to get to know my district. Everyone is super awesome! My companion, Hermana Bludworth and I are outnumbered 2:10 though by the elders haha.... Also 8 of the people in my district are from the DC area (I'm including myself because I still think of VA as home)!!
Yesterday we practiced teaching for the first time. We did little "lessons" with the other missionaries as if they hadn't heard about God before. I thought it was really cool to get back to the very basic message of the gospel and that is that God loves you! He loves you so much that he sent his son to die for you. So you never have to be alone in anything that you go through. I want you guys to remember that this week whenever you feel discouraged: you always have someone on your side, so don't give up!! That's so awesome!
Have a wonderful week!!
Love,
Hermana Goold
p.s. send me emails anytime! I can only respond on Saturdays, but I love hearing from people:)
p.p.s I am the actual worst at taking pictures, so all I'm attaching this week is a screenshot Elder Safsten took at the end of one of our zoom calls

“The most powerful Being in the universe is the Father of your spirit. He knows you. He loves you with a perfect love. God sees you not only as a mortal being on a small planet who lives for a brief season—He sees you as His child. He sees you as the being you are capable and designed to become. He wants you to know that you matter to Him.”President Dieter Uchtdorf, “You Matter to Him,” General Conference, October 2011
