{Letter #12} Paper Airplanes
Happy monday everyone!! I hope you had a great week!!
Highlights:
-zone conference!! We had some really good trainings and I now have a long list of things to improve haha. The best part though was that I got to see my comps from last transfer!!!
-paper airplanes. My companion randomly said on a call one day that we could teach kids how to make paper airplanes for an fhe activity. Except she told me right after that she didn't know how to make them. Luckily, after making (I'm not kidding) hundreds of paper airplanes when I nannied two little boys in high school, I consider myself a bit of an expert๐ We ended up teaching the family how to make them, relating it to the gospel, and it was honestly so fun.
-snow in October. What more is there to say?
Thought:
I've been reading in the middle of Alma lately and I've been thinking a lot about <<JOY>>. In Alma 36, Alma is talking to his son Helaman. Amongst other things, he again shares the beautiful story of his conversion and the light and joy that came through Jesus Christ, even greater than the pain of the memory of his sins.
Alma continues in verse 24 saying: "Yea, and from that time even until now, I have labored without ceasing, that I might bring souls unto repentance; that I might bring them to taste of the exceeding joy of which I did taste; that they might also be born of God, and be filled with the Holy Ghost."
I think it stuck out to me since I'm a missionary and I've been feeling so grateful lately that I get to share with other people the joy that I have felt through a knowledge of God's love. It got me thinking: How do we find joy even through hard times? Through Jesus Christ and his gospel. Through repentance and faith on his name.
I have no more time haha, but I hope you have an incredible week!! Love you all!!
