{Letter #10} Knock Knock

Happy Monday everyone!! How are you all doing??

So yeah, the big news for this week is that I got transferred! I am in West Valley City now with Hermana Ellyana Long. The first few days were hard. Things are different here! But there were definitely highlights that made me happy🌈

-my new area is a biking area!!! It's been super fun and I've only had one mishap trying to bike in a skirt haha  πŸ˜‚
-general conference. When I take notes, I put stars next to the talks I want to go back to read in the next couple weeks. This past conference I marked over half of the talks because I was feeling so inspired. Everyone should go watch it if you haven't yet! Even if you just listen to a talk each morning as you're getting ready, it will make a difference in your day. Our leaders are inspired to say what WE need to hear.
-spontaneous service. The other day we ran into a lady trying to move a bunch of boxes up to an apartment on the 3rd floor of our complex. We asked her if she needed help and she was so happy!! She was the cutest lady and told us that she wasn't a member but she has a lot of friends who are. She was super nice and gave us her number at the end too:)
-One of our friends got a blessing this week. We had tried to teach her about the priesthood, but she seemed distracted and not the most interested. Well, the next day the bishop and some other men from the ward came and talked to her about the priesthood and gave her the blessing. We could tell that it meant a lot to her and that she felt the spirit. After, she thanked us and wanted to set up another appointment. It was pretty cool!

Bummer 🌦
Okay I haven't put one of these in a while but I really need your help. This week someone asked me to tell a joke. Literally the ONLY one I could think of was a stupid knock-knock joke that used to be my favorite when I was 3-years-old. So that's what I told. And I got the dreaded pity laugh... I'm determined to find a better joke though. I need to redeem myself. Please send me all your best jokes. haha

Thought☀️
There are too many incredible things in the Book of Mormon to pick any favorites, but one powerful chapter I love is Mosiah 16 (especially v. 9). Abinadi is preaching to King Noah and his priests. Abinadi probably knew that he didn't have much time before their patience with him ran out. So what did he teach? He taught about Christ. Why? Because He is the center of the gospel. We NEED Him. He is our Savior. He is the light of the world. He offers His light and His hope to everyone. Even to those priests of King Noah. Even to the people who condemned him. His light is one that will never be dimmed. Even through hard times. Even when our own light feels dim. Christ is ALWAYS guiding the way for us. To happiness. To eternal life. And he will NEVER give up on us.

I want to know: what's your not-favorite-but-one-you-really-like scripture?

Thank you all for your examples and support!! Les quiero y que tengan una bonita semana❤

Love,
Hermana Goold

PS I took zero pictures this week, but enjoy this little picture my mom made of Mosiah 16:9.
