JULY 23, 2021 Hi everyone! I hope you're all doing well! We have an all-day p-day today for Pioneer day! Not going to lie, I think this is my first time doing anything for it but I'm definitely not complaining haha!! It's been a minute since I wrote an email but I am still here and so much has happened! Highlights: -I got permanently reassigned here to Utah! I am grateful to know for sure now and excited for these next six months here in SLC! -I don't know if I ever sent this update but I got whitewashed (my companion and I both came to the area together) into the Spanish ward that I started my mission in! We are also serving in the 6 English wards in the stake. It's been so fun!! -baptism!! Our friends Brynnley and Marcus got baptized a couple weeks ago and it was so amazing! The spirit was so strong! -New mission president! We were able to personally meet President and Sister Spencer this past week and they are so awesome!   -We've been working hard and seeing...

{Letter #26 } Every Day is a Holiday!

Hi everyone!! I hope you all had a wonderful week :) Things have been crazy here, but here are a few highlights from the past couple weeks: -I got transferred! I'm in West Jordan! We have 2 English wards and 1/3 of the Spanish ward haha! My new comp, Hermana McBride is great! Super hard working and amazing! -no bugs!! We might have maybe had a bug problem scare right as I was leaving my last apartment. Luckily it ended up not being that, so we're good! It was a very eventful way to start the transfer though haha -lots of high-quality lessons! I'm grateful that we have the Spirit to teach and not just my own very mediocre skills. -we are [1/2] vaccinated!! Spiritual thought: I've been thinking a lot about God's plan for us lately! Isn't it so cool that God entrusted US to be here at this time? He knew He needed strong spirits to be here to help the world through these crazy times :) He knows each of us and knows our potential! And He'll help us get there! Tha...

{Letter #25} BAPTISM!

Image
Hello everyone!! I hope you've been having a great week!! I'm running out of time today, but here are a couple of highlights: - OUR FRIEND GOT BAPTIZED!! She's so awesome and we're so happy for her!! - I hit my 9-month mark. Yeah, that's halfway  ๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿฅณ   -walking!! We did get bikes but we've had some unfortunate flat tire issues so it looks like we're destined to walk everywhere. I love it though!! Spiritual thought: CONFERENCE WAS SO GOOD!! I know I'm late to the game, but seriously if you haven't read President Nelson's talk: " Christ Is Risen; Faith in Him Will Move Mountains ," go read it. One of my favorite quotes from it is this: "Faith in Jesus Christ is the greatest power available to us in this life. All things are possible to them that believe. Your growing faith in Him will move mountains—not the mountains of rock that beautify the earth but the mountains of misery in your lives. Your flourishing faith will help yo...

{Letter #22} Zoom Baptism

Image
Hello, happy Monday!! There have been so many miracles here in Kearns. Once again, I've left myself with no time to write but here are a couple highlights: -referrals! We have a member in our ward who calls us a couple times every week to give us people who are interested in English classes or gospel messages. Most of the people aren't in our area, but it's still so awesome for us!! -baptism!! A couple weeks ago this same hermano brought one of his friends to our ward. We were able to teach him a couple lessons and then found out he doesn't live in our area so we passed him off to his missionaries. He got baptized on Saturday and we got to watch on zoom!! We were so happy :) -we got to shovel a bunch of snow this week! Thought: I love D&C 18:15-16 from CFM this week! I haven't had an official baptism yet on my mission, but I still feel so much joy every single day. And you don't have to be a full-time missionary to feel that same joy from sharing the gospel ...

{Update #15-1/2} Some pictures and no letter

They've been having fun making decorations for the house... Emma informed us this week that apparently she receives more snail mail than any other person in the mission.  We were quite excited!   The little tree we sent her  and a homemade vase from Grandma Sandy.  A baptism!   Emma was asked to speak at this baptism.

{Letter #13} Your Weekly Food Log

Happy monday friends!! I hope everyone is doing well! Highlights: - people picking up !! We had a couple people who had been taught by missionaries in the past who said they wanted to talk to us again! It was exciting:) - birthday ! The mission decided to give us an all-day p-day for my birthday. Just kidding. But it was a really good day. We got a trick or treater!! And we actually had candy to give them (thanks mom)! I've never felt so cool haha - food hahaha. Because we are inside a lot and we can't eat with members right now, we have a lot of culinary creations going on. Everyone in our apartment takes turns making dinner and wow. Among others,, we had bomb fish tacos, a Dominican rice/sausage dish, and an insane veggie dish. We also got some sushi for a mid-week pick-me-up and Hermana Oldroyd made a very addictive pumpkin bread. It was a good week haha... - baptism ! It was a person that Hermana Long and Hermana Oldroyd taught a few months ago. I didn't even know him!...
