{Letter #36} Happily Ever After

Image
Once upon a time a girl got her mission call to Toronto Canada. She started the mtc online and three weeks later got reassigned to the Salt Lake City West Mission. A lot of people asked her how she felt and she would smile and say that she was excited. But there was always a twinge of disappointment. She finished up her training and headed to Utah. She still wasn't sure about everything when she got there, but she went with it. She had hard days, she had sad days, she had days where she had no idea what she was doing, but through it all there was something that kept her going. Something that helped her feel joy. She didn't realize it, but she was learning to love being a missionary. She was learning to love serving in Utah. She loved the people in West Jordan, Kearns, West Valley, and Taylorsville. She loved serving. She loved teaching. She even loved knocking doors. Things she never thought she'd love to do. Suddenly, before she knew it, her time as a missionary was up. Af

{Letter #35} What Would You Do For $100?

Image
Hey everyone! Merry ChristmasπŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸŽ❄ I hope you've all had an amazing week!! It's been awesome over here in YSA! Here are a few highlights from this week: ☆We met our amazing friend, Rodrigo. He's only been meeting with the missionaries for a couple weeks (like literally less than 2) and he already has such a great love for the Book of Mormon. He said that he felt like he was missing something in his life and when he started learning about the gospel it kind of filled that hole. ☆Our friend, Armando, got baptized! Not very many members of the ward showed up because of the holidays, but he was so grateful and happy :) ☆We had an awesome Christmas devotional this week and it helped me really remember what we celebrate this time of year. I really think that you can't get better than Christmases on the mission... ☆We had a party with our district on Christmas!! It was so fun! Someone offered an elder $100 to chug a bottle of Martinellis and... he did it....😳 Spiritual thou

 Hello everyone!  I'm going to keep this nice and short for all of you, because I don't have much to say this week. I'll just put it into emojis and pictures :) ☃️πŸš—❄πŸ“–πŸ€―πŸ‘ŠπŸšΆ‍♀️🚢‍♀️πŸŽ„πŸ‘ΆπŸŽ‰πŸͺπŸŽΆπŸš™πŸ€ Spiritual thought: I was reading a BYU speech called " Come Unto Christ " this week and I was thinking about repentance. It's a change. A yearning to be better. It's rest for our souls. A rest that can only come through Jesus Christ. Isn't that an amazing gift🎁 I love this scripture in Matthew 11: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." The only way we can come unto Christ is to repent and strive to be better and more like Him every day! I hope you all have an amazing day!! Love, Hermana Goold

Last Transfer {Letter #33}

Hello everyone!! Happy Monday!! Get ready because these past like 3 weeks (or whenever it was that I last wrote a weekly) have been crazy ones!! Here are some highlights (and there are more in picture form at the end😁) Highlights: ◇We got the cops called on us!! We accidentally parked in front of someone's illegal driveway so they called the police on us.... No worries though it all turned out well haha ◇We've been listening to Christmas music for about 3 months now and are super excited that it's officially Christmas season now πŸŽ„πŸ₯³ ◇We met some of the most prepared people ever! We "randomly" knocked on their door, taught them the Restoration, and put them on date to be baptized! They already had been to church a couple times and knew that the restored gospel is true! ◇We got to eat Thanksgiving with a cute family in our stake. It was actually my first time eating a meal with a member! It was amazing! ◇We got transfer calls this week! Sadly, I'm going to be

Hello hello everyone! Happy Monday! It's been pretty crazy but pretty dang good over here in West Jordan! Here are some highlights: ☆ We got transfer calls and we're all staying together in the area. The only change is that we're only working in the Spanish ward again, instead of the whole stake. We're so excited!   ☆ We've been meeting some amazing people that have been super prepared to hear about the gospel! One Hermana, Felipa, told us she would read the Book of Mormon every day before we even asked her to!! ☆ free resource event for Spanish speakers. Our mission advertised a bunch for this one event, and we got to help out with it. We were able to teach around 10 groups of people the Restoration as they left the event and it was super cool! ☆ morning runs! We've been running every morning and we always see the most beautiful sunrises. It's a great way to start the day :) Spiritual thought: Something that I have been thinking A LOT about this week is the

{Letter #31} Happy October!

Hello everyone! Happy October πŸŽƒ I hope you all are doing well and enjoyed conference weekend! Send me your favorite talks/quotes :) Life has been crazy over here in West Jordan, but so good. We've  seen so many miracles! Here are just a few highlights: -the temple!! My zone got to do a session at the Jordan River temple this week! It was only my second time, but it was amazing!! -finding lots of people to teach! My new companions are literal beasts and have been teaching me a lot about boldly, but lovingly, inviting people to come closer to Christ. -I prepared with a few questions for conference and I received so many answers and revelation to those and more questions that I didn't even know I had... -Our friends! We get to talk to such amazing people and I love hearing about how they've been able to grow their own faith. Spiritual thought: So many of the talks at conference this weekend I feel like were focused on having peace and unity through Jesus Christ. In my life, a
